Sometimes, the most breathtaking adventures don’t require a passport - just a shift in perspective. Right here in Australia, natural beauty often lies waiting just beyond our doorstep. For those craving a sense of remoteness, there are hidden corners and offshore islands that offer a strikingly different escape.
Take Kangaroo Island, southwest of Adelaide - a place where rugged coastlines meet dramatic rock formations, and over a third of the land is protected wilderness teeming with native wildlife. If it’s vast, untamed nature you’re after, it’s just a short flight away.

TRAVEL NOTES
We were lucky enough to stay in a private house that opened onto a secluded beach, the kind of place where the wild feels close and the world feels far away. With fishing lines cast from the shore and nothing but the rhythm of the sea, it was a reminder that sometimes, paradise isn’t found - it’s rediscovered.
