Nestled at the heel of Italy’s boot, Puglia is a hidden gem, where sun-kissed whitewashed towns and centuries-old farmhouses dot the landscape, framed by a breathtaking Mediterranean coastline. Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South," dazzles with its baroque splendour, while Alberobello and the Itria Valley boast trillions of stone huts with their signature conical roofs - quaint and timeless.
Known as ‘the garden of Italy,’ Puglia’s fertile soil yields a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, making it as much a feast for the senses as a feast for the stomach. With a more relaxed vibe and a budget-friendly charm, it offers a slower pace compared to the glitz and glamour of the Amalfi Coast. That’s what I adore about Puglia - the easy going atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve become part of its warm, welcoming culture.
TRAVEL NOTES
TRAVEL NOTES
It’s here that I discovered some of the most beautiful rustic homes to rent, perfect for exploring this still relatively undiscovered corner of Italy. And it was in the streets of Puglia that I stumbled upon the most magnificent pink bougainvillea tree. Its vibrant blossoms, bursting with Mediterranean colour, left an imprint on my soul, inspiring me to bring that same spirit of Europe’s gardens into every project I create.
